Transportablés

Part of the ethos behind the concept of ‘Weltzimmer’ is the exploration of our locale and establishing our place within it. As a consequence, many of the pieces have been created so that they can be easily dismantled (essentially ‘flat-packed’), for easy transportation. Their ‘transportable nature’ invite the viewer to experiment with siting the work in various locations at various times and thereby experience how it interacts with differing environs.

A few of the pieces are often displayed using Visually Open Contained Spaces (VOCS) – these are carefully constructed clear containers that can be used in conjunction with the pieces to display them in a variety of ways, e.g. inside or on top, adding further dimensions to the way in which the work can be considered.
